My Kiddos!

My kids are getting soo big!! Brock was in his very 1st primary program today!! I totally thought he was going to get nervous up there and not say his part but he was soo brave. Although his line sounded a little like this "Icametoafamilyandreceivedabody", he did soo good. He knew "I am a child of God" and sang very loud! The other song that was hilarious was "Called to Serve." He didn't know any of the words until "Onward! Ever onward!" and then he stood up so tall and belted it out!! My parents, Chris's parents, Ben, Bridgette and Jacob all came to support Bubba. We were laughing soo hard. I love my big boy!

Paige is in the terrible two's and she's only 1! She is into everything and will not stay in nursery... in fact, she won't even leave my lap because she's so terrified that I'm going to leave. She is starting to talk a lot and loves to swing and ride her bike. Her Uncle Jacob has showed her how to head bang so she loves to say Hi to people in the grocery store and then head bang against the cart. She loves to eat macaroni and raspberries and is a sucker for her daddy. She is the best dressed baby around thanks to Sandi's killer pre-sale!! Thanks!! We love our little Paigey-Suey!!

Of all the dumb toys...

So this week I took Brock to the dentist. He did fantastic despite the 3 cavities that they found.(and one is so bad he needs a silver cap!) So they give him a toothbrush and some floss and tell him he can go to the magic toy chest and pick out a toy. Now let me tell you, this toy chest was the bomb! Bouncy balls, airplanes, trucks, you name it!! So Brock goes rummaging through and picks the funny face. Of all the fabulous toys in the toy chest, Brock picks the dumb glasses/mustache combo. I tried to talk him out of it in order to pick something cooler, but he insisted! I had to capture a picture of my funny man thinking that he is hilarious. Unfortunately, this toy has come up "missing" and we can't find it anywhere!! Let me rephrase that, Brock cannot find it anywhere. I can find it in the trash can.

Cannery- I love you!!

So this past week I went to the cannery and canned jam. I was utterly astonished at the amazing facility we have right in our town. I cried as I watched 40 of us all working together to help each other. One of the workers said, "These are hard times and we're going to have to work together and help each other if we want to make it. " 8 cases of jam later... I was so proud!! And as an extra bonus, I got to buy some pears too. I had signed up to can pears the same week as my marathon. It was an 8 hour shift and I just couldn't find the babysitters to cover 8 hours so I called and cancelled but I really wanted the pears!! Well, when there is an overage, they let cannery workers buy the extra, so I got 5 cases of pears too!! Whoopee!! In case you can't tell, I am on a major food supply kick-- the prophet has been telling us to do it, so join me!! Then, when all the food runs out in the grocery stores, we can share our disgusting food supply recipes together!!

And Dad of the Year Goes to....

I can't help but be proud of my handy man!! He has done it again by creating this fantastic fort for our kids!! First he designed it in Auto-cad, then he bought all the lumber and parts, cut all the wood, and then assembled it!! I am totally impressed at his patience!! This is the final product and the kids think it is totally cool!! I'm pretty impressed too, however the slide is a little narrow as my bum didn't fit when I went down it!!

Felder Boys

This picture of Chris, his father, and his brothers is just too cute!! I may be a little prejudice, but I think Chris is the cutest one by far!!

Things I love

A few things I love:
Flowers from my man-- love you babe!!

Little girls! Paige is just too cute with her little skirt and diva shoes. Oh yes, we got another party dance with these shoes too. Hopefully, in a few years she will be just as excited to put on volleyball shoes and go kick some butt!!

I can't Resist!!

Okay, I know these pictures are ridiculous but I just couldn't resist putting them on my blog. Brock loves to put on his Halloween costumes from years past. This was a spider costume of Brock's when he was 1. Huddy and Brock love to put in on and play "guys" and go kill witches. Brock looked like a goon and Huddy "legs" Morby was just too cute. This is a little revenge on my sister who always posts ugly, bed-head pictures of my boy on her blog. Look out Calvin Klein... Huddy's one hot little dude!!

Marathon Mama

Saint George Marathon 2008
So Saturday was the day of the big race. I woke up at 4am ready to run!!
This is how I felt... nervous, excited, anxious!

Here are my shoes with my chip attached. My t-shirt and my lucky number 6127!
My delicious breakfast of 1/2 bagel, 1/2 banana and gatorade.
We got on the bus at about 5:15 and it really started raining as we headed up to Central. We jumped off the bus to pouring rain and headed to the announcer booth to grab a trash bag. We are wearing the trash bags over our heads looking ultra sexy, when they announce the start of the race. We line up like cattle, and the race begins.

Mile 1-3: A piece of cake! There is so much adrenaline going that the first 3 miles are done before I know it. We are running tightly together still and it is still pouring rain.

Mile 4: The rain looks like it is going to stop so I pull off my trash bag, gloves, long sleeve shirt, and get ready to enjoy the overcast weather. I encounter my first port-o-potty with poop all over the seat. I dry heave 100 times!!

Mile 5,6,7,8,9,10: The rain begins again and is pouring. I am soaking wet from head to toe and with every step I hear squish, squish, squish from my soaking shoes. I put my head down and just run.

Mile 11,12,13,14,15,16,17, 18: I don't really remember these miles. I lost Tracey at about mile 10 as her knees were killing her. I am running all alone with my trusty MP3 player. I am stopping for gatorade and clif bars every 3 miles. My hamstrings are starting to cramp. The rain is pouring down and I wring out my shirt every few miles. My family has hung signs for me the whole way and I am laughing at their ridiculous signs.

Mile 19, 20, 21,22,23,24: I am tired of running. The rain has stopped but I am wet and cold. My bowels are telling me to stop running and I have to pee every 2 miles. I am trying to pull wet clothes off of my frozen body as I try to squat to pee in the stinky port-o-potty. I am tempted to catch a ride with the shuttle man.

Mile 25,26: I am almost there. About 3 blocks from the finish I see my brother and he runs with me. I am very emotional as he has run 2 marathons and been a great support to me in my training. He runs with me for about a block and then I see my parents, sister, sister in law, and neices. They run with me and I am filled with so much love and appreciation. I then see my sweet hubby and his family right before the finish. Some last minute adrenaline kicks in and pass two people I have been behind the entire race. YES! I crossed the finish line at 5 hours 11 minutes.

Considering the weather and the bathroom issues, I was pretty proud. At least I wasn't in last place and I did pass an 84 year old man right before the end.
My family!!
Chris's family!!
Love you babe!! Thanks for letting me do this!! I promise never again!

My dad and #1 supporter. My mom (not pictured) was also a huge supporter. Love you guys!!
Thanks for all the running tips Bob- you are a great role model.
Amy- thanks for coming! You are the best.
Me and Tracey telling everyone the horrible stories of the course!!
Love you Trac!!

Well, I can cross this event off my list and come to the conclusion that I am not built for running. I can do a lot of things, but running marathons is just not one of them. It was an amazing experience and I am so glad that I did it but I won't be doing another one for a long time! (Well, maybe next year!)

Obsessed with the Race

This marathon has basically consumed my life since we started training in June. 17 weeks of running will end this Saturday as the St. George Marathon will finally be here. The race starts at 6:45 and my goal is to be done in less than 5 hours. My brother bought me a running outfit, complete with thor-lo socks-- he is the best!! I cannot wait for it to be over and I can return to my normal training!! I was asked in church today the best and worst parts about doing the marathon:

Worst Parts
1. All the time!! 4 am runs on saturdays, getting up soo early all the time!
2. The physical exhaustion-- being so tired all the time. My body hasn't hurt like this since College 2-a-days!
3. The chaffing- I never knew how painful it could be for body parts to rub together for MANY miles!
4. The mental exhaustion- constantly fighting your own mind and telling yourself to keep going, that you do not hurt, and that you are almost done!

BEST PARTS
1. Running with friends! Creating a friendship and talking about every minute of your life just to pass the time. We also peed within an arm's length of each other!! That's friendship!!
2. Having a training goal. I often get so bored of my regular training routine that it was so good to have something to work for.
3. Saying I've done a marathon. I know it isn't much, but I've always wanted to do one and now I can say I have!!

My Baby's Cute Shoes

Paige has really never cared for wearing shoes... until this week. We pulled out some of Sandi's treasures we bought and found these killer converse sneakers. Paige loved them!! She stared down at her feet all day and did a happy dance for her new sneakers. Too cute!!

Fun Friends

A fun Friday afternoon with a play date!! This is Caleb, Brock's buddy from Church. They have had a ball playing guns, cars, guys, basically anything boyish!!

It was great because while the boys were playing I was able to dye my hair!! Yes, my blonde is totally natural... NOT!! As I've gotten older, my shiny blonde locks have started turning brown and I definetly look better with the blonde. Is it just me, or do I have a Jay Leno chin and a long horse face??? Don't answer that.

Marathon- 2 weeks and counting!

Well, besides all the awesome chaffing, I have a new marathon souvenier... a black toe. I thought you would all enjoy seeing my huge clown feet and my adorable black toe. No, it's not just dirt, it's permanently ugly due to running downhill and my toe rubbing against the end of my shoe. The good news?? 12 miles on Saturday, then 2-5-8 next week, 2-5-2 and then the marathon!! 8 runs and then I am done hauling this huge body through the streets of St. George. I can't wait-- if you are a runner though, I have found the ultimate song for getting the runners high-- Bon Jovi -- It's My Life! I was running up Foremaster Ridge, a large mountain, and started jamming to Bon Jovi and it was over before I knew it! I totally had runners high until a truckful of guys drove by and yelled at us! It scared me and totally made me wet my pants and ruined my high-- PUNKS!!

A Few Things I Love

Here are a few of my favorite things:

My baby girl and her new haircut! Her short bangs make her face look so chubby!!

My Brock and his little button nose.
My slightly graying hubby and his adorable dimpled chin.
Fresh bread.
Notice-- all the things I love are either family members or food!! Do I have a problem??

Brock Needs A Silencer

Sacrament meeting and whispering will be the ultimate death of me. Brock cannot whisper. I think he was missing that part of his body when he was born because he has an extremely loud voice... especially in sacrament meeting. So this week, a baby is being blessed. The family is sitting behind us, with in-laws sitting right next to us. So the family men all arise for the blessing when Brock notices that the baby has a dress on, but no hair. So he says "Mom, that Baby boy is wearing a dress!" I try to hush him but he continues to try and persuade me that the baby has a boy haircut. The people around us are cracking up, including the in-laws. So after numerous times telling him that it is a baby girl he finally accepts. But then his next comment said extremely loud is "Mom, it stinks in here! Why did you fart??" I grab him and whisper in his ear to be quiet and that I did not fart. He then replies "Mom, don't lie to me" I was sweating so bad (moustache sweat Kristin) and couldn't help but laugh myself. The family joked with us after that they will try to work on the baby's hair issues. Funny stuff!!
